SUNY Canton Students Visit Werlatone, Inc.

October 27, 2014 Patterson, New York

Since 1965, company founder and President, Mr. Glenn Werlau, has dedicated himself to supplying high quality passive RF components to the radio frequency marketplace. Recently, Mr. Werlau hosted an educational seminar for over 15 students and facility of SUNY Canton, School of Technology. Mr. Werlau, a graduate of SUNY Canton, along with members of the Werlatone engineering staff, production team, and sales & marketing department, provided an insight into what it’s like working in the world of high power RF components.

During the seminar, students visited several work stations throughout the company. At each station, a selected Werlatone employee discussed a particular product, RF engineering method, or in-house capability, stemming from proper solder techniques, to electrical data simulation, mechanical drawing, and advertising. The tour included Werlatone’s high power test laboratory, a walk through the high tech production area,

and several test & lab benches where engineers showcased todays’ current products as well as the development of some of some of tomorrow’s technology.

Mr. Werlau also had time with the students where he openly spoke about the dedication required to becoming a successful entrepreneur, as well as, some of the challenges he overcame, and his insight towards the future of the RF industry. Overall, the students were enlightened, attentive, and involved. The experience was a success, not only for the students of SUNY Canton, but also for the dedicated staff at Werlatone.
